Is the SNES version better than the GBA?

  2. Gregory Wishart April 27, 2015 7:28 pm

lol I never knew in America that square published this game lol that’s so
    ironic

    Picking this up tomorrow.

I’m playing through this finally for my first time, it’s a fun game, that
auto battle feature should be a staple in the RPG’s. I can’t believe I
never got around to playing any Breath of Fire’s back in the day, going to
    play 2 3 & 4 next. Did they make any after 4?

You said that Square couldn’t make cryptic games like this. They did. The
first few Final Fantasys had a lot cryptic sequences of events that I
wouldn’t have known how to do without a guide. 1 is definitely the worst,
    though.

Phantasy Star, nothing more could be said, but yeah it has a lot of great
games, many of them were later ported to other consoles though

only Breath of Fire 2 is released on the Wii Virtual Console. I loved the
sequel even though I never played the original because of a lack of
    accessibility.

  9. sroof20 April 27, 2015 10:42 pm

there are 5 breath of fire games

  10. Kenneth Moorkens April 27, 2015 10:48 pm

    Damn you lying game!

  11. theminutemonth April 27, 2015 10:53 pm

freakin LOVED this series as a kid. seriously great game.

  12. Jayden Dash April 27, 2015 11:50 pm

Oh CGR Undertow you done did it now. This game is one of the Top 5 of my
greatest RPGs on the SNES. It’s hard to find a good to great storyline that
will keep you attached to most RPGs today. This along with several others
is why the 90′s was the Golden Age of RPGs.

I am currently playing this game & have never played it before, I have it
CIB & in very good shape. Why do I have it so, because of its younger
brother, part 2, it wouldn’t be complete without it.Anyways… This game is
so damn confusing & you can get lost fast! Manual is hardly any help, the
map is alright in some points but I find myself here on the internet
looking for help! Really!? I would not be surprised if AVGN did a video on
this damn game! I agree, Squaresoft Could not have done this!

  14. SegaCDUniverse April 28, 2015 12:36 am

I remember this one! I liked 3 on the Playstation the best, have yet to pop
the UMD into my PSP but I know I will get right back into it when I do. =)

  15. Joey M April 28, 2015 1:10 am

Capcom should revisit the Breath of Fire series, 1 & 2 were my childhood
    ;’(

  16. martin kemp April 28, 2015 1:19 am

    great review

  17. dawakat08 April 28, 2015 1:48 am

    Great game and great review

  18. ManOutofTime913 April 28, 2015 2:12 am

Oh, if you’re in the beginning and getting lost, then you are going to HATE
later in the game where there is almost no direction or indication of where
to go or what to do. Just use Gamefaqs. It’s how I survived and it’s how
    you’ll most likely survive too.

  19. ManOutofTime913 April 28, 2015 2:35 am

…and you were able to just jump into the first few FF games right away
without getting lost, I take it?

  20. AFIDD21 April 28, 2015 2:59 am

Yes there are tons of great games on it ! Space Harrier Shinobi Alex the
Kid Double Dragon Golden Axe I could go on !

  21. xxxHDP74xxx April 28, 2015 3:03 am

why should we buy a sega master system are there so many good games on it?
    (i don’t have one)

  22. xOmniCloudx April 28, 2015 3:46 am

A classic franchise that Capcom killed with Dragon Quarter :(

  23. MrBdobb April 28, 2015 4:03 am

    Looks similar to Chrono Trigger.

  24. AFIDD21 April 28, 2015 4:07 am

Everyone buy a sega master system, it’s 8 bit sex….

  25. goatorgy April 28, 2015 4:35 am

One of the best RPGs ever made.

  26. ThoughT April 28, 2015 4:50 am

I officially respect the hell out of this review. Well Done.

  27. Seanorman88 April 28, 2015 5:34 am

ZombiU is the most underrated game on the Wii U.

  28. Darian Castle April 28, 2015 5:41 am

I loved this game in every way possible. I’ve never played anything like it
before and i doubt i ever will again unless a sequel happens. It’s so sad
to me that the wii u is just put down so much. I think it looks great and
performers wonderfully but what do i know, im just a consumer.

  29. PandasG0neWild April 28, 2015 6:13 am

    IGN 11/10 Zombies

  30. HermaphroGynandro April 28, 2015 7:08 am

I don’t care for online multiplayer. Am I the only one?

  31. yadirakevin2 April 28, 2015 8:07 am

Great review! I love this game. But yea far from perfect

  32. Jymel Ryan April 28, 2015 8:47 am

Really liked the game, but I felt the graphics could have been more better,
instead you get a fuzzy blur, controls could have been more tighter but are
easley manageable after a few play through.

  33. maxpower1232 April 28, 2015 9:45 am

This game is awesome. A lot of people say it is really hard… but its not
really that bad. As long as you play it safe, you dont die very much. Also
many reviewers stated that who have to walk all the way back to your
previous characters corpse… but it turns out thats the way you are going
anyways for the next objectives… and besides there are fast travel way
points in each area. Controls seem difficult at first but I quickly got
used to using the gamepad. Yes, a different art style could have been a bit
more ”next gen” looking… but the gameplay makes up for it without a
doubt. Although this game is not for people who expect to never die in a
game a la Fable. This game doesnt make you feel awesome it makes you feel
vulnerable… and thats why I love it. :)

  34. TheFreakRocker April 28, 2015 9:46 am

What Ubisoft didnt realize is that even after poor sales on the first year,
or even the mediocre wii u install base, is that they made a game that most
people who buys a wii u gets soon or even when they buy it. That speaks a
lot about people wanting their games on the console… Me for example, i am
waiting for watch dogs on the wii u, just to show them i like my wii u and
    that i support their support…

  35. Brutus Mandingo April 28, 2015 10:16 am

I just got a wii u for my 30 th bday lol my girlfriend surprised me and I
couldn’t be any happier I find it to be a nice console and addition to my
ps3 and soon ps4 my question is should I check zombie u out ? Im a huge fan
of survival horror and zombie games books and movies btw my Nintendo tag is
    superbrutusbro

  36. Ocio Informativo April 28, 2015 10:23 am

BEST “survival horror” game available for any console :D

  37. Andrew Rodriguez April 28, 2015 11:09 am

I must ask, is the multiplayer in this game available from the start when
you first turn on the game? Or do you have to play through some of the
    campaign to unlock it?

  38. Marko Deniro April 28, 2015 11:10 am

for me this game is one of the best, hardest, most compelling, inovative
etc. games that i have played since Dark souls

  39. Greg Trial April 28, 2015 11:23 am

My first thought: aaaaaagh british guards… they really don’t blink!

  40. goragajo April 28, 2015 12:11 pm

    wicked game…..love it……

  41. mechaart April 28, 2015 12:52 pm

I like this game, reminds me of Resident Evil 2′s scare factor. Plus if you
die a few times and spawn back in your base the zombies tend to spawn alot
and you have to fight them off.

  42. MrGamemaker8 April 28, 2015 1:48 pm

This is the only true review I’ve seen. My respect goes to you.

  43. sk8jerker April 28, 2015 2:42 pm

Is there any storyline or ending? From what I’ve seen you just wander
    around until you die.

  44. Aaron corolla April 28, 2015 2:43 pm

    *-*

  45. ALIEN-SKULL April 28, 2015 3:24 pm

BUT THIS GAME IS NOT ABOUT HITTING THINGS OVER AND OVER AGAIN if zombi u
was a game about just hitting things over and over then of course it would
be shit. so if game doesn’t win an award that means its shit ? it’s at a
point now where your not even making any sense, and your just writing shit
for the sake of it your utter bullshit is making my head hurt bluelazer out
